7/5/2023 0 Comments Loving war cm owens![]() ![]() He doesn’t look like an overachieving business guru. It’s amazing how sexy he looks in just his jeans and a white T-shirt with some blue logo on the front. If he wants to make a day out of this, I should be comfortable. I grin stupidly while picking out a pair of jeans and flats to wear. My hands are going to be all over you in front of every-damn-body out there. “Where are we going?” I ask while going to open my suitcase. It’s still really early, barely after lunch time. His announcement has me snapping my head up. ![]() As much as I wish I could, there’s no way I can tell Kode that I’ve managed to already fall in love with him. ![]() It wasn’t intentional for him to make me admit to myself what I was feeling, but he did it. But last night was the first time he has ever made love to me. Kode Sterling has taken me in ways that would have some people running to a confession box. Everything that has slowly been building between us exploded in a way that I saw coming, but had been denying. He comes to press a soft kiss to my lips, making me revisit the events of last night when he completely shifted the dynamic between us. The small bathroom off to the side brings back memories of our night in Vegas. “Figured we’d be low-maintenance this weekend,” he says while winking, waving his hand around at the small sitting area that shares the room with a king-size bed. Not a suite that would impress a girl, and I laugh while following him in. Kode is grinning as he shows me into the hotel room. ![]() 7/4/2023 0 Comments Harry behn halloween poem![]() Though the family was able to get on its feet again and rent a basement apartment, relations soon deteriorated between Hopkins’s parents, leading to separation. His friends had heard that the governor of Iowa had issued an arrest warrant for him and Porter as well, meaning it was no longer safe for Joseph to hide at his uncle’s house. The danger was greater than Joseph had expected. Taking Emma’s hand, Joseph listened as the group sat in the boat and spoke quietly about the situation in Nauvoo. When Joseph and Erastus landed their skiff on the island, Emma, Hyrum, and some of Joseph’s close friends greeted them. He had been hiding there all day, but he had grown anxious to see family and friends. Porter had gone east to leave the state while Joseph had gone west, crossing the river to his uncle John’s house in Iowa Territory, beyond the jurisdiction of the Illinois sheriff and his men. The day before, Joseph and Porter had slipped out of Nauvoo to avoid arrest, worried they would not get a fair trial.
